Policies for disaster relief

This hurricane season the American people did not receive much assistance after the natural disasters that have occurred. Upon two months after hurricane Helene people in the Appalachian mountains are still struggling to receive help with clean up, repair, food, and supplies. It would be helpful and productive if we were to have a policy that is passed to ensure that the people will get federal help if the circumstances are bad enough as well as the people being prioritized in this situation such as help and rescue. It appears that our current protocol is weak and the organizations that are involved do not seem to have the best interests for the people, even so maybe cleaning up or replacing FEMA would be beneficial to those who go through future natural disaster events.
