Please abolish income tax! There is no way a single/widow, mom, making a middle 5 figure salary should owe the government money. We live paycheck to paycheck, and to owe even more is atrocious!
At least for anyone 70 and older. Too complicated, plus we’re no longer eating eggs at that point, we’re eating chicken…. if you know what I mean. We’ve spent the majority of our lives paying in, let out latter years be peaceful and without need for worry. Simplify for the elderly!

Everyone should pay a share. If you are complaining about the tax schedule, I can perhaps see a case for changing it; but only those who are truly incapable of working (invalids due to disease or age or congenital conditions) should be immune to taxation, IMO. I could also, perhaps, see a valid point in proposing that government - especially federal government - be pared back to essentials and the the bureaucracy be largely dismantled. Most of the functions it provides would be much better performed at state and local levels.

I didn’t ask for your time or your attention. You chose to read and comment on my post and waste your time. I don’t know the answer but I do know there are so many of us struggling to make ends meet, there has to be a better way. It is so disheartening to work so hard to provide for my child, and it just isn’t right that I have to pay more taxes.
