Physical Education/Nutrition

America has a deadly obesity epidemic. Re-implement stricter physical education and proper holistic, healthy nutrition in elementary through high school.

We need to teach kids how to properly train, eat, sleep, manage stress, recover and the general benefits of maintaining an active lifestyle.

According to IHME, Global Burden of
Disease (2024), the US experienced over 330,000 deaths from obesity in 2021. Considering obesity underlies many other health issues, the rate of obesity-related deaths is likely much higher.

There’s numerous benefits to making America healthy again: lower cost of living, increased productivity, decreased mental health issues, lower dependence on western medicine/big pharma just to name a few.

Nutrition education should be mandatory for all ages. To the degree that the student has a cognitive ability to understand the training and the teachings. This will include how to prepare meals how to combine nutrients to add value to ones diet and health. Japan has a great program that they use from kindergarten through 12th grade. It is obvious that this material is adding value to the lives of their citizens. Obesity rate in Japan is about 2%. This is enough to at least open her eyes to looking at what they’re doing. This would save countless dollars in future medical cost to our nation.
