There is a lot of talk regarding how expensive medications can be, such as Insulin, Epi Pens, and so many other medications. We can all agree these prices are out of control, and greed has caused a serious problem. Many people say cap the price at X dollar’s, but theres a major flaw in that logic, inflation.
Every business that starts up has one goal, make money. Without that incentive there’s no reason to keep the doors open. In the past couple of years we have all seen how expensive the cost of goods has gotten. The cost of materials has gone up, cost of labor has gone up, and just in general everything has gotten expenive. If we cap the price of a drug at X dollars, there will eventually come a point where inflation has grown to a point the drugs are not profitable enough to manufacture. If that happens, pharmaceutical companies will stop making those drugs causing a national emergency.
I propose we cap the profit margin of drugs so that they are always sold for a fair price and profitable enough to keep the doors open and continue manufacturing.
