Pet vaccination choice

I thought my vet was a friend and would not push a vaccine that my 8 lb Italian Greyhound didn’t really need. She did the opposite and told me how my dogs head was going to be cut off so the government can confirm that she had rabies if she showed signs of it. Even the doctors assistant told her that I should be able to make the decision of getting the shot or not. Stupid me, I caved in and let her make her bonus for giving another Rabies shot even though she knew that my dogs were with me all the time (even at work with me) and had no chance of getting Rabies. Now, my little 8 lb girl has been sick since, and she has a cyst on her side and doesn’t want to eat and throws up a lot of the time. That was one of the worst mistakes I have made. Now I think back and I wonder if I should have listened to her advice to put down the other five Italian Greyhounds through the years for different reasons. Just like doctors for people make money from drug companies, vets do too. After she gave my dog the rabies shot the next week I got a letter from the vet that she was closing up shop and she sent all of my dogs records to me. If she knew she was quitting why did she have to push me to give this little girl a rabies shot? She was a mobile vet and it was very convenient and it was more expensive but I thought it was worth it. She had just bought a different mobile van and all of a sudden she quits??Now I’m sorry. I hope she thinks about what she has did through the years. Another one of my Iggies almost died after her rabies shot. Her face swelled up and she couldn’t breath. We rushed her to emergency and they saved her. I was never pushed to vaccinate her for rabies again. If I have a dog that doesn’t even go for walks, has a fenced in yard and is always with me, how is it possible for her to contact Rabies??? This needs to STOP!
