Parental School Choice

State education funds to be applied to any school of a parents choosing, even if that school is a private membership school that does not take state funds. The student should be able to apply their per pupil school fund to any school and the school should be able to retain their separation with the state and not be held to the state teaching curriculum.

In California, if a school receives funding from the State they must follow the Educational Guidelines (State/Federal). The education provided is substandard or “woke” or antiAmerican and mandates the vaccination of children to attend schools. This policy would allow the student to attend private membership schools that have superior education, allow for parental choice with regard to vaccines and masks. These private membership schools are typically Christian based schools. Creating policy that protects schools by allowing them to remain independent of government Education and forced vaccines, but removes the financial burden from the parents and allows the students access to their “per pupil cost” will create a more competitive free market of school choices and will allow students and parents more options to send their children to high calibar schools without being financially burdened. The policy will also open the door to families who would have never dreamed of sending their student to a private membership school due to the tuition costs.

Instead of school taxes, make ALL schools private. If ppl can afford to pay taxes, then then can afford to pay for the school of their choice for their children. if not, they can homeschool (OPTIMAL option as we have done so).

There is no way my husband and i could home school because of our jobs and my children did not do well with the distance learning forum during covid. They wanted to be at school amongst their friends. School is as much socialization as it is education.

I think the solution to this problem is to allow parents to send their children to the best public school in their area, not confine them to a district with bad schools. If students living in an area are forced to go to a particular school, there is no incentive for the educational institutions to do better. Let parents send their children to the best school. The best school has the most students, and therefore the most funding. This will create an incentive for public schools to create a good learning environment to retain students and keep funding up. This will also allow a viable FREE option for lower-income families who still want to see their children succeed and surpass them in potential. This is very similar to what Charter schools and Magnet schools are doing and why they are so popular. If the system that these semi-public/private schools can be mimicked in public schools, we would see a rise in education quality across the country and therefore lower poverty rates, crime rates, incarceration rates, homelessness, etc.
