Our government shouldn’t be able to gaslight and lie to the American people. You take an oath when entering office and it should mean something. Instead we are told lies by politicians and the media to push propaganda. We are tired of it. We are supposed to trust government officials with our lives, money, health the things that mean most to us and can’t get the truth..it’s unacceptable.. everyone in government shows their allegiance to lobbiest, big tech, big pharma instead of the people who’s votes that put them there..at this point everyone should be fired and gives those jobs to regular people..the mom’s that lives on a budget and feeds her family on minimal money while paying the bills can do a better job then what we’ve had for years. This act allows the government to knowingly be deceptive and not be held accountable for it..things have to change NOW!!! If you truly want America to be great again and earn our trust this would be the first step of many neededstrong text
First, this is not a new idea. It has been posted over 50 times, most of the time incorrectly.

Second . The public is misinformed. It does not allow the Government to use propaganda against the Citizen, legally. The First Amendment does that. What they do behind closed doors is a different question.

“Facts About Smith-Mundt Modernization – USAGM”
The Smith-Mundt Modernization Act was part of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2013. The U.S. government produces and distributes programming in both TV and Radio formats, using six entities, including Voice of America and Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty to reach foreign audiences. The function of the old law was to restrict Americans’ access to that programming. Content produced by Voice of America, for example, was exempt from FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) requests. The only organization governed by the law and amendment is the U.S. Agency for Global Media, the arm of the State Department that operates Voice of America and other foreign-oriented broadcast services. Under the amendment, it is required to make its programming available to Americans “upon request" – in other words, to those who ask for it. The ONLY way for you to get the “propaganda” to see what we are broadcasting outside of the US is to ASK for it using a FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) request.
