We need to massively overhaul the US power grid, we cannot have states that have scheduled blackouts. while i want nuclear energy, we need to overhaul our power grid to withstand that much power being produced. It’s an expensive endeavor for sure, but we need to build a power grid that can handle nuclear energy.

I think it starts by setting a timeline that each state reworks their power grid so that each state is independent instead of the 3 primary regions (west, east, & TX) we have now. The federal govt can set standards that the new grid needs to meet, but I think just setting the goals that each state is power independent is the right start. Would really like it if we could get it down to the county/district levels, but I think that is too ambitious.
