Outlaw public deceit from members of Congress and the Executive Branch - NO MORE LYING TO THE PUBLIC

This law would prohibit members of Congress and the Executive Branch from lying to the public.

General Ban: No members of Congress and the Executive branch shall make, publish, or cause to be published a false statement to the American public.

Oversight Body: Establishes an independent “Congressional Truth Commission” (CTC), composed of non-partisan experts (e.g., retired judges, ethicists) appointed by bipartisan congressional leadership.

  1. Civil Penalties: Fines up to $100,000 per violation, escalating for repeat offenses.
  2. Disciplinary Actions: Recommendations for censure, expulsion, or referral to the Department of Justice for further action (e.g., if perjury is involved).
  3. Remedies: Mandatory public corrections, apologies, or retraction of false statements.
