Our pharmaceutical drugs should all be made only in the USA

Why are our drugs being made in other countries? We have no idea what is in them. We don’t know if we are getting the actual drug, or something harmful. All of our drugs should be made in the USA. Quit playing with American lives. Also, quit charging Americans exorbitant prices, when other countries get it for a reasonable price.

Those two words (National Security) were the first that popped into my mind when I read the proposed policy title. I agree strongly with this. 98% of our antibiotics are made in China. WTF?

This needs drastic attention ASAP, since ALL American lives are threatened by this current catastrophe that was allowed to happen, with nearly all of our antibiotics being manufactured half a planet away. I mean, how could this even occur without some sort of sick anti-American plan in place to follow through with it? Why did our govt allow it in the first place? Those in charge at the time of this transition of antibiotics mfg. overseas should be investigated until they are utterly broke from court costs and attorney fees, IMO.

I was unable to get my prescribed for 6 years pain medication (chronic pain patient, morphine sulfate 15 mg, 1x day) dùe to " medication shortages ". I ended up going into withdrawal and had to go to the ER (taking up room for someone else ) where I was treated like a junkie, like worse than garbage. How is it that the United States has medication shortage for a medication that’s been around for 100s of years! Ive never had a problem with my medication, never a problem with my strict pain contract).
Why does the DEA continue to punish legitimate, closely supervised chronic pain patients rather than crack down on all the fentanyl and it’s derivatives coming across the border?!!

Well first your last line, is why we get them from other countries, the price, the pharmaceuticals companies here are greedy, the prices will stay high as long as there get people to pay it, you also said how do we know we are getting the actual drug in it from other countries, how do we know the company’s here are giving us the actual drug, there’s no way to tell, we put a lot of trust in Doctor’s but as we seen over the past four years. Doctor’s do what there told by whom I don’t know, not relaying on the education or standing by the oath that they took, to protect and provide the highest level of health care, I myself don’t trust Doctors much these days.

If solution should be made in multiple states as well!

“State-level redundancy”, like we planned with circuit-path redundancy when we first rolled the internet out across America – what a clever idea, Angela (especially for antibiotics and common but critical medications)! This would definitely be a national and strategic benefit to the United States. If one state is attacked or ‘goes rogue’ we have no interruption of local supply.
