Allow health insurance companies compete across state line to drive down the cost of health insurance for American citizens.
YES! Insurance companies can then make groups based on employment type. Hairstylist/Barber group, lawyers group, etc. Then the insurance can follow the person and not the job.
Close but no cigar. We want to reduce the Federal Government influence. There are currently 50 Insurance Departments: one for each state. The idea of groups per employment type is on track. We need a general structure for each employment type. Waitresses do not face the same health challenges as construction workers. Allow the prior group health programs negotiated by companies/unions to go back to prior Obamacare. Allow for mobility and choice should someone make job moves. There is one rule considering health insurance that everyone seems to have skipped over: Group is all or none. Individual is looking at one person. Using that construct, make the groups. Then allow the person to choose if they want to join or not. The companies want to be competitive in each state they are allowed to operate in. That is what brings the competition to allow prices to go down.
