Old nonviolent offences-all rights restored

People who have convicted of a non-violent offence 10-15 years ago, whose lives have been turmed around and are now a contributing member of society are allowed expungments, yet they arent allowed to have their gun rights restored. If a person has totally turned their lives around, and were simply convicted of a nonviolent property felony 10 years ago or longer, they should have just as much the right to protect their household and family as the next person. They should have their 2A rights restored.

Absolutely agree with this, however, I believe that if a person is convicted of a non violent felony the label of felony should be erased completely with all rights restored after a certain period of time. 10 years sounds reasonable to me. I would like to see my country forgive me if I have kept myself clean and have paid my debt to society. The label of felony is permanent which means you are punished for life for something that is non violent and in some cases, there are no victims.

If you Aren’t incarcerated, Regardless of any felony convictions you should have your gun rights. Nowhere does it say in a second Amendment “except for felons”
Regulations on guns is quite ridiculous honestly. A criminal is not going to follow the law regardless. And if you’re planning to hold up a gas station or something the gun you’re using is probably not one that you purchased legally because that can be traced back to you. Being a felon is irrelevant when it comes to someone breaking into your house or harming you or your family.
Not to mention A criminal is less likely to commit a crime when they know their potential victims are armed. More guns = Less Crime!
