Proposal to eliminate Federal tax on Unemployment benefits. It never made sense to me why Americans are being Federally taxed on State Unemployment benefits. If someone is collecting unemployment, they are likely already in a difficult financial position. Why is the Federal government taking 15-25% of these benefits off the top? To me, this is policy is unconscionable.
No tax on tips, overtime, social security or unemployment benefits.
