Our food is not taxed, so why is our pet’s food taxed? 
Lots of folks can’t have children, so they get pets that are like children to them. Humans don’t pay tax on baby foods, so why make humans pay tax on their pet’s food that they consider family too?

No tax on food period!!! Prepared foods are now all taxed which is really a tax on labor. If things were done properly there should not be a need for many different taxes.

Eliminating Tax on Pet Food will make it more financially accessible for those wanting to adopt pets into their home and reduce costs. It would be another incentive for adoptiion and hopefully make some impact to reduce pets in shelters or euthanasia.

It is an excellent point but I don’t think it is a deciding factor in pet adoption. We have rescued 5 dogs over the yrs. and never gave it a thought. We always thought rescuing a pet already here was of greater benefit than buying a puppy.
