Consideration should be given to those working multiple jobs to make ends meet. My husband works three jobs (one full-time), and I work one full-time job. There shouldn’t be taxes on second or third jobs. Also putting us into a higher tax bracket, hurts us financially and we’re only working to make ends meet. Eliminating taxes on these additional jobs would provide much-needed relief for families like ours who are just trying to stay afloat.
This system currently discourages hard work and resilience, as the extra income is disproportionately taxed. It would encourage people to take on extra work without the fear of being taxed to a point where their efforts barely make a difference.
