No pay for politicians after term is completed

Politicians still reveive pay after they have completed their elected term(s) in office. Removing this would allow for additional funds for use throught the government and relieve taxes imposed on citizens. This would also resuce the amount of career politicians who do not have the people’s best intrests in mind.

No pay for them or their spouse. It is not fair that we pay for a spouse after they die. They get their benefits of their insurance, just like the rest of us.

They do not receive pay after completing their term in office. They may receive a pension, like other industries provide, based on length of service, etc. A pension is reasonable for a long-term representative.

Also, equating a career politician with someone who does not have the people’s best interest in mind is not fair. There are plenty of good representatives who do, indeed, have their constituents’ best interest in mind, and they should be re-elected based on their performance. There is nothing inherently wrong with a “career politician”… if they are not serving well, the periodic election will correct that situation.
