NO MORE LOBBYING & NO MORE DONORS

Agreed, all campaigns should be financed specifically by grassroots efforts. They are supposed to serve we the people. Possibly allow for a slight increase to total allowable contributions by an individual to 10k at most per election cycle. But do not allow any corporate money.

The federal government should NOT fund campaigns.

Disagree, lobbying is an essential right for citizens to advocate to their representatives for their needs and desires.

Lobbyists and dark money are problems, yes.

Repealing citizens united is the right first step to remove the cancer that is big money in politics.

Iā€™m torn whether I agree with the proposal for voting anonymity or not. I see the pros and cons for anonymity but, with the diminished level of trust American voters currently have towards elected officials, I think transparency that elected politicians are voting for and/or against the policies they ran on, is a real necessity. At least until there are real term limits set. Iā€™m undecided .

People tend to do what the highest bidder says. If almost all real money comes from lobbiests and businesses, then they are the only ones who really control what our country does.

And end the donations to get a seat in committees in congress. That just ensures corruption

Iā€™ve expressed this same thought several times. Elections shouldnā€™t be bought by donor money, more ads, etc. Everyone should be playing on the same field. Hope this gains some momentum.

No text messages!!! Or at least a ā€œno text list.ā€

Back when our country was young, anyone could lobby congress. Itā€™s sort of what this forum is. Letting Congress know what We the PEOPLE want them to do. I agree that corporate entities should never be allowed to lobby congress. And especially that any and all campaign contributions should be prohibited from corporations.

This is absolutely an essential bill to pass I always said there should be no Lobbyist

You should separate these into two separate policies. Just like we want for the government!

Lobbying in and of itself is not evil. However, all lobbying should be limited to meetings within the offices or meeting rooms of the politicians being lobbied. No fancy trips, no gifts, no kickbacks, just the information lobbyists want to impart so that politicians can form their own opinions.

Agree

If we canā€™t eliminate lobbying, make sure no Representative can become a lobbyist once their term has ended.

I have been saying this for years. It never gets brought up because the people that could outlaw it wont vote to lose money. This should be left up to the people to decide. I think there should be very harsh punishments for anyone caught doing it too. Lobbying only hurts the everyday American and helps the ultra wealthy corporations.

Exactly but Obamacare

I would be ok with all campaigns being funded by the tax payer with a cap. People running for mayor are awarded $10,000 to run their campaign, senators get $50,000, governors $80,000, president $200,000. If you are out of money, the rest of the funds must come from their own back pocket. They can get donations in the form of supplies. Stationary, shirts, hats, food, things of that nature. As well as ANY contribution must be disclosed as if to be ā€œpaid partnershipā€ is advertised on creators TikTok videos.

This! Well said. I also would like to see that there is no campaigning for at most 6 months of an election. No robo calls, or texting. At least 2 debates, and it needs to be non bias people. Ask the questions, no input from the motarators.
