No more hunting and fishing license. This is America and our founding fathers would be appalled by how we need a permit or license to forage for food. Only commercial fishers or hunters should need a permit or license.
This is a terrible idea.
Explain instead of saying it’s terrible. What’s the difference of having a fishing license vs NOT having one? Other than money
only money and the states telling us what we can and can’t do
Exactly. Her husband must be a game warden or something cuz there’s literally no reason we need a fishing license other than it just being money for the government
Why is that?
No, I dont have a husband nor do I hunt . .
I just have common sense and respect of our wildlife.
-
Wildlife Overpopulation: Without licenses, anyone could hunt or fish whenever they want, leading to uncontrolled harvesting. This would result in overpopulation of certain species, which can lead to habitat destruction, increased disease transmission, and starvation. Ever seen a deer herd so large it devastates an ecosystem? That’s what we’d be looking at.
-
Ecosystem Imbalance: Every species plays a role in its ecosystem. If hunting and fishing go unchecked, we risk upsetting the delicate balance of nature. Some species could become overabundant while others could vanish, leading to a cascade of negative effects on biodiversity.
-
Decline in Fish and Game Populations: Without regulated limits on how many animals can be harvested, we could see drastic declines in popular game and fish species. Imagine heading out for a weekend hunt or fishing trip and finding nothing left to catch. Not only would it ruin your experience, but it would also threaten the species we love.
-
Loss of Conservation Funding: Hunting and fishing licenses generate critical funding for wildlife conservation and habitat restoration programs. Without these fees, many of these initiatives would be severely underfunded or cease to exist altogether. This means less protection for the very ecosystems we depend on.
-
Increase in Illegal Activities: Without licenses, there would be less oversight, leading to a rise in poaching and illegal fishing. We need regulations to keep the bad apples in check, ensuring that everyone plays by the same rules and respects our natural resources.
-
Lack of Education and Awareness: Hunting and fishing licenses often come with educational components that teach about conservation, responsible practices, and respect for nature. Without this framework, many people would lack the knowledge needed to engage with our wildlife sustainably.
Hunting and fishing licenses are clearly needed for the conservation of wildlife so your suggestion will never be considered.
Kids need to go and learn about how to fish and forage. It is getting back to nature and communing with all the earth provides. Families need to be one with each other again. I grew up on fishing and foraging and now I can’t reap what the earth provides even though it is the planet I was born on and should have rights without permits to survive naturally.
We as families are not commercial or big gaming entities. We do not need to have permission to survive on our own planet. Help kids to put away technology and become one on this beautiful planet, learn its abundance and create a new life and frame of mind.
Paying for a license to fish is a political, money grabbing idea and should be abolished.
