With the cost of health insurance to all Americans and the facts that we all have to keep going to many different doctors for different issues, I would love to eliminate all copayments & deductibles… We pay an arm & a legs already for insurance…
Can’t you get a health insurance plan with no deductible? It seems to me the monthly payment would be higher
Yes you can , but like you said the monthly cost go way up for that & you still have a co-pay between $35 - $85 for every visit no matter how many doctors you need to see…
Consider the following to meet your needs to spend where you want.
For profit insurance use to have much lower deductibles and copays before they implemented the HMO, PPO etc. Those days are gone. They won’t go back because they don’t have to. Insurance also use to be non profit.
Insurance is coming either from your employment or tax money. Either way you are paying for it. So let’s set policies that allow us to get the greatest benefit by directing our money into accounts that provide us with the tax benefit and investment instead of giving it to the insurance industry. At the same time offering us greater freedom to seek the care that will get us healthier instead of having decision made by insurance industry employees who don’t have the education the Doctor does but tells the Doctor what to do.
Co-pays and deductibles REDUCE the cost of insurance! If you eliminate them, this will force the insurance companies (who you clearly don’t like) to pay the full amount of every claim. Its not like insurance companies are sitting on a billion dollars that they keep sitting around for a rainy day. They will need to cover the additional higher claim costs. First-dollar coverage will EXPLODE the already astronomical cost of health insurance. Really need to rethink this.
