Network News/Press Accountability

The Press is for the people, not to push narratives for the Government. 1) Any “Press” that intentionally spreads misinformation deliberately to harm a person or to protect a person, can lose it’s license and can be sued. Network news must be accountable for it’s anchors selling their opinions or preferences as “news.” Gullible Americans are being misled and even used by powerful people and that is not right. 2) Influencers that are being paid to spread a particular narrative or promote a person/party, must disclose that very openly. 3) NPR needs new management and to be completely gutted. Opinion should not be allowed on a Government run media. 4) When opinion is a part of a News Program, someone competent from a differing view point should also be available for the counter argument. 5) All news organizations, anchors and affiliates that do donate to politics must disclose who and how much they donated on a new public forum that will be created, if it is not disclosed, license removal or fines are possible. 6) Independent shows like TYT or Tucker Carlson, need to add a disclaimer when their show is opinion, not news reporting. 7) People need to have faith in the debate process, so Networks that do get a debate contract, will have to include balanced moderators… i.e. at least one Democrat/Left leaning and one Republican/Right leaning and one Independent/Moderate Leaning Individual.

There are likely other things we can do also. These are just suggestions. I don’t know if these are the right things to do, but we need to do something.

This needs to be done immediately, but expanded to include all news stations and outlets. The MSM is now 95% opinion and 5% fact, even when the facts are clearly out there, especially when it comes to politics. It’s important that it is differentiated what if fact and what is opinion. There are millions of people that watch the news every day that are believing everything they hear as fact without any independent research of their own.
