I think you should get a code to track your ballot to make sure it goes for the candidate you selected.
All great ideas except same day registration. We are adults. If you are passion about voting there is plenty of time early in the year to register. If you are inept to do it within the required timeframe then you really shouldnāt be voting at all in my opinion.
Iām not for the provisional ballots. I think itās another loophole for procrastination. I worked the polls and many times the people casting on provisionals were here for years and that is plenty of time to get your ID updated for where you live. Itās literally the first thing I do when I move and I think we need to go to a mindset where more importance is placed on that.
Citizens (who provide documents verifying such) should be given citizen specific IDs. People who are in the country who are going through the nationalization process or are illegal immigrants should be given an immigrant ID.
No one who is not a citizen of the United States has the right to vote in United States elections.
I have no problem with electronic voting. Each voter should be required to sign their electronically printed ballot before submitting it - verifying that the choices on that ballot are the ones they made.
Side Note: Cars and trucks with California license plates should not be delivering boxes of ballots for counting under the cover of darkness. Reeks of deceit.
ID is great. Also need some kind of training for accountability of poll workers. Many local places see friends and family and get lax.
I feel that an ID isnāt enough. They should show some form of U.S citizenship as anyone get an ID card.
Agree. I feel that all ID or DLās should state whether the person is a legal resident of the U.S. If they are not, then they canāt vote.anyone get get a license with any country birth certificate
I am 100 percent for National voter ID. I am also for getting rid of EVERY voting machine. We need to go to paper ballots watermarked, serialized and barcoded with a detachable receipt with those same attributes. All voting and counting should be live streamed. Any absentee ballots must be sent to verified voters who request them only. The election clerks MUST keep track of all ballots mailed out. Absentee ballots must be returned in special designated and marked by clerk envelopes. If ballots are not returned as the clerk sent them out, they are unopened, uncounted and delivered to the state AG office within 72hours after election day. All ballots, pollbooks, tally sheets are then scanned and searchable on an online database for anyone to see/count.
In addition to voter ID and an easily auditable process, I would love to see a time for the announcement of elections based on when the entire country has voted. Count but donāt release the information until Hawaii actually votes. I would be willing to do a fun midnight run to the polls even like we would camp out for movie premieres and make it an event in the community to simultaneously vote. Tailgating and cheers for people exiting the polls and high fives if we had confidence in the process- make us proud to vote again and remove the media influences to the degree we can. People can always vote during business hours in early voting if they donāt want to participate in overnight events. Announce when we are ALL done! And it is counted that day and we all get the day off work. Fun and inspiring like our sports.
Ive always supported picture IDs to vote, however, given that some Amish and Mennonites dont take pictures or will not pose for pictures - how could this be modified to support their access to vote?
This could be the beginning of bringing back some election integrity to States like WA where we just feel it is a lost cause for change. Even when the citizens do vote , if they do not like the outcome they reverse the will of the people. This would be a start to some accountability
Can we use E-Verify for Voter Registration & Drivers Licenses? We already have that system up and running.
Make a federal law that the acceptable id list is mandatory in all states. Such that it supersedes Californias law.
All vote counting to be done by midnight on the day of the election.
Like Texas has in Harris County, printing of ballot choices as backup to the electronic version.
Ballot casting can only be done in certain places. No outside ballot drop offs .
Make Election Day a national holiday so everyone can vote.
Ballot collecting from addresses not updated should be illegal. They did that in the 2020 election. Mailed ballots to everyone and then collected the ones with bad addresses and did who knows what with them.
Costco shouldnt be more secure than voting! I didnāt have to show any ID here in Maine
Additional each ballot has a #, which you are given and you can track your ballot, just like a mail in ballot. It will help with less voter fraud.
If we are to use drivers license or state ID, there must be a mandatory designation of āvisitorā for foreign nationals on them. Someone here ona visa should have no right to vote in our federal elections.
The only one⦠not sure why this isnāt being talked about enough!
Not only should ID be required, it should be a national holiday so everyone can make it no matter what.
What about voting from our phones? An app? Each phone can have only one app and voter access per social security number. Also has to be registered early for time to check validity of the voter. No more counting machine changing votes. Just a thought
Yes. Voter ID and citizenship status is needed especially in California to preserve the integrity of our elections.
Federal Election Day as a holiday, ID required, one day and paper ballots.
