National Nursing License

Every Registered nurse in the United States and associated territories takes a National Licensing exam that is the same regardless of where you take it but after passing it you are only licensed in the State in which you chose to be licensed in. If a nurse chooses to be a travel nurse unless they live in a compact state they are required to obtain the license of the state they wish to work in if it is different from where they are originally licensed. Obtaining license for another state can take months and cost hundreds of dollars. A National License would alleviate the licensing issues we faced during COVID. We can still have State License if the state wants it but at a minimum we need a National License. It only makes sense in my eyes.
