National Defense and Military Strength
To restore the strength, discipline, and excellence of the U.S. military, I urge the following actions to be implemented on day one:
-
Restore Military Standards and Discipline : The U.S. military has historically been a symbol of strength, unity, and discipline. It is critical to return to the standards that made our forces the greatest in the world. This includes reintroducing strict grooming and conduct regulations. Policies that allow facial hair, relaxed fitness standards, or accommodate gang affiliations undermine military cohesion and professionalism. Additionally, policies that encourage social engineering experiments, such as the inclusion of transgender individuals and DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) programs, should be eliminated. These initiatives detract from the military’s primary mission of defending the nation.
-
Reinstate Traditional Military Values : Ensure that the military upholds traditional values by maintaining a focus on operational effectiveness. Programs that do not directly contribute to the mission readiness of our troops should be removed. Reinforce the foundational principles of respect for the chain of command, and prioritize combat readiness over social and political experimentation. This includes enforcing clear rules of conduct and military appearance, including the prohibition of facial hair and tattoos that contradict professional military standards.
-
Protecting U.S. Military Equipment and Infrastructure : A strong national defense requires that the U.S. military uses equipment produced and manufactured within the United States. Foreign-made equipment and technology, especially those produced by adversarial nations, pose a direct security risk. I recommend mandating that no foreign-manufactured equipment be used by our military, ensuring that all technology, vehicles, and communication systems are produced domestically to eliminate potential vulnerabilities. Additionally, the U.S. must invest in the research and development of advanced defense technologies, including cyber-defense systems, autonomous weapons, and secure communication tools, to stay ahead of our adversaries.
-
Strengthening National Defense through Federal Mandates : On day one, implement federal mandates to protect our military personnel and assets. This includes ensuring that all military infrastructure, from vehicles to communication systems, is produced within the U.S. to avoid security breaches or reliance on foreign entities. Equipment, uniforms, and technologies sourced from overseas increase the risk of espionage and sabotage. By mandating domestic production, we not only secure our military but also bolster American industry and job creation.
-
Reforming Military Prisons : Go back to the days when federal prisoners, particularly those convicted of heinous crimes, had no special privileges such as access to TV, radio, or recreational activities. Military prisons should be a place of discipline, not comfort. In addition, I recommend that child predators in federal prisons no longer be separated from the general population. They must face the consequences of their actions and learn to fend for themselves without protection.
-
End Foreign Influence in Military Affairs : All U.S. military personnel, property, and animals must be shielded from foreign influence. This includes eliminating the use of any foreign-sourced military tools or resources, ensuring that no outside interests influence the operational security of our military forces. Additionally, strict regulations should be placed on contractors working with the military, requiring comprehensive background checks and citizenship verification for all personnel. Any non-citizen contractors should be phased out to prioritize American security and employment.
-
Rebuilding the U.S. Military’s Global Reputation : Our military’s strength is not just measured by its equipment but by the dedication and competence of its personnel. Reinforcing rigorous standards, emphasizing patriotism, and restoring pride in military service will lead to a more effective fighting force. This includes re-establishing the values that made the U.S. military a global force to be reckoned with—discipline, honor, and unity of purpose.
-
Addressing Veterans’ Issues : Lastly, there must be a renewed commitment to fixing the issues facing U.S. military veterans and their families. Too many Vietnam and Korean War veterans have been denied the benefits they are owed. Conducting a thorough investigation into the treatment of these veterans and ensuring that their families receive the full support they deserve is critical. Furthermore, the military retirement system must be overhauled to ensure that retired personnel have access to the necessary healthcare, housing, and support services.
