I can see implementing this with an employment contract. You can have this extra time off and paid leave if a doctor enforces it AND you choose to be paid less for the duration of your employment. In other words, you can choose to be paid the same as everyone else and be expected to show up like everyone else or you can choose to make less money but have that guaranteed time off for your symptoms. Iâm a female that has bad headaches as PMS but I donât make my fellow employees cover my work duties because Iâm having period issues. That wouldnât be fair to them. It also wouldnât be fair to them for me to get a paid week off. It also wouldnât be fair to my employer to be down an employee whoâs getting paid to not be there.
Some will take advantage of that. And if say nurses wanted to call out monthly, it would just mandate staff to stay & cover your shift
Take a deep breath.
I never said I was advocating for WELFARE Benefits FOR THE UTERUS .
I do firmly believe in freedom of speech, I appreciate the interaction on this post, and I love hearing both sides, with valid pointsâŚ. Thats what this platform is forâŚ.or I thought that was what it was intended for⌠sharing of ideas.
Unfortunately, some of the responses are a bit presumptuous. I could respond with the same energy as some of the rude, judgmental, disrespectful commentsâŚ. But I prefer not to engage in pretentious ⌠self righteous insults. Itâs a waste of energy and time.
It cost nothing to keep scrolling.
More importantly it doesnât make a woman lazy or weak for wanting more options available for women or young women that genuinely DO struggle with this issue.
Relax.
I have endometriosis and Iâm in perimenopause. The fact is it truly is a huge burden at work, but I have to take responsibility and either use my sick leave or muddle through. I also can work towards finding a job that suits my needs better. I really donât think extra time is appropriate.
A federal regulation like this make it harder for small businesses to grow and would ultimately lead to less fair hiring practices, where employers have a bias against hiring women. If youâre a woman who would prefer to work from home, get a work from home job or work it out with your current employer. I vote no, as a menstruating woman.
Menstrual dysfunction is a health issue, and we donât even recognize it. The existence of the proposal is testimony to the grip that Rockefeller (symptom, not cure or prevention oriented) medicine has in our society. I think our demand should be in line with the MAHA approach - to have uncensored access to genuine information, and the option to make meaningful choices.
First before anything; all these comments claiming to suck it up and âits part of womanhoodâ youâre not getting a metal for âsucking it up like a manâ when maybe you have a high pain tolerance or maybe you didnât have as much pain as a separate woman no matter how much you think you did. In fact, it just helps the issue that womens pain with something out of their control is not treated the way it should be because âItâs just part of being a womanâ. And some of the men liking those comments; you have NEVER had that pain so why are you so eager to shut it down? Arthritis, even if itâs practically bone on bone, can be a natural occurrence for elderly but we donât tell them âItâs a part of being old. Suck it up and deal with it.â if they need time off or extra help and if you did youâre a jerk.
NOW THEN:
I can agree with this but only for a few days max unless you have a Doctors notice because everyone thinks period = a week and thatâs not true. Some women bleed for 5 to 7 days. Some 3 to 5. Some only a day or two. The pain that can be dibalitating for some is still there despite how few or many days. And my only complaint is most women the first and second are the worst, but for most I know, as the days go on itâs very manageable. A lot of women would take the full week off and abuse the leverage which sucks for those that truly need it.
However, I feel as a woman with Endometriosis; we need to look at root causes. When I stopped wearing pads or tampons and started using a homemade cotton only pad or very expensive organic tampons; my period became so much more manageable and if I can taking that one day to recoop helpsâŚWhy? Well because it was just announced a few months back they found lead and mercury in our tampons.
I know, especially to men or those non-menstrating, a bill like this would be considered unfair. And some of these replies âItâs a part of being a womanâ and to âdeal with itâ is very misogynistic and condescending to some of us that have been in the hospital thinking our apendix burst and being treated well when the doctors thought it was our appendix before finding out its our endo scar tissue on our ovaries. Told me afterwards when I could barely move âsuck it upâ and suddenly treated badly as if I went to the hospital for attention when I truly thought my appendix had ruptured.
Also, even with the doctors notice, so many doctors push Birth Control as a cure. When the side effects of Birth Control are outrageous. I was so depressed on it I barely could function and had a low libido and low drive in general. And some studies are linking it to an increase in breast cancer and the depo to brain tumors. But I know from one gynecologist I went to âWell if youâre not willing to be on BC; it canât be that bad and I canât write you anythingâ
So this is a layered issue. Chemicals and lead in menstrual products, misogyny with feminine issues in general even in the medical community, the steroids in our meat, hormones in dairy products, not a proper education on how to manage your cycles.
It is layered but I feel what RFK jr is trying to do is the utmost importance; GET RID OF CHEMICALS IN OUR STUFF.
That said, his is a grey area and I feel it being a max of 3 days, maybe even one day to start and that is better than nothing, unless said otherwise by ur doctor bc no most women do not need a full work week in the month but a lot would use it if given the opportunity. But some DO need a full week! Periods are that unique to the individual woman.
But I truly think the FIRST thing we should tackle is WHY does a tampon that is supposed to be cotton have lead and mercury in it? WHY does our food cause so many hormone issues now?
Absolutely .
Even some of the negative comments prove my pointâŚâŚ Why are so many women suffering from PCOS, Endometriosis, Infertility, Dysmenorrhea.
I can definitely understand some of the concerns, and there are valid points from the people that respectfully disagree.
Either way, this is a huge health issueâŚâŚ and sadly, because we as women, have the mentality to suck it upâŚ. Itâs just âpart of being a womanâ is just leading to reproductive health issues being undiagnosed or misdiagnosed for years.
How about I change the policy idea to:
Make the UTERUS Healthy Again
Iâm so thankful you said that in a clear and respectful way. Earlier, I couldnât find the words to respectfully respond to some of the comments without taking away from the point. I struggled .
And yes! For me the first 2 days are the absolute worse . After that I can manage. And I was thinking more along the lines of PTO thatâs been earned, or at least an absence thatâs excused, especially for women that are âundiagnosedâ. It is a grey area, but if things donât improve, as far as womenâs reproductive health issues, then that grey area is going to implode.
I 1,000% agree, we need to address the root cause. A change is coming with the new administration. And Iâm excited to see where it goes. Itâs really a blessing from God that RFK is leading the MAHA movement. We can take steps to improve our own health, but if our food supply and feminine products are saturated with endocrine disrupting chemicals and poison, then weâll never get out of this endless cycle.
I also think we need to continue the conversation, even if itâs just sharing ideas on reproductive health issues. Itâs needed. There needs to be more research.
The rabbit hole is so deep and people donât even realize it.
Men struggling with decreased testosterone levels is another
Breathe, weâre just a couple gals having a chat about a relatable problem on the internet. At least let us dream of what might have been if we didnât have to foot the bill for the social security your politicians mismanaged or pay off the 35 trillion dollar debt you left us.
Stop accomodating the entitlement. Give them an inch today, they take a mile to orrow. No matter how much WE THE PEOPLE give, itâs never enough. The entitlements and special programs must end.
Wild.
Perplexity.ai:
Mercury exposure can significantly impact the reproductive system in both males and females. It is associated with infertility, sperm DNA damage, and abnormal sperm morphology and motility in males. In females, mercury exposure can lead to menstrual disorders, hormonal imbalances, and adverse reproductive outcomes. Animal studies have shown that mercury can alter ovarian structure and function, affecting estrous cycles and reducing the number of healthy follicles. Overall, mercury poses a risk to reproductive health by disrupting normal reproductive functions and hormone levels.
Thereâs 2 conflating issues here, and I donât think any of the women on this thread GET IT.
ISSUE 1. Women wanted equality with men and to vote. Two realms traditionally only pertaining to men. Women got their status as equals, and got the vote. What are the actual consequences of this?
How men relate to other men is, politically you are either my friend, or foe. Men are net contributors to production, and the tax base, and the last to personally benefit. Men compete with other men for jobs, while women want equality status, but donât want to compete on an equal basis with men. They want to be taken care of and given special treatment, and I happen to believe thatâs how theyâre wired. However thatâs not EVERYMANâS job to take care of you via tax subsidies and special programs. Itâs ONE manâs job. Aka a HUSBAND. If you donât have or want a husband, IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MYSOGANY. It has everything to do with women extracting special treatment and gov programs via EVERYMAN.
Why is the common man responsible for funding your uterus? And without getting access to it? Sounds like a bad deal. Sounds like parasitism. All take and no give. Even your boss loses. Women are out of control.
MEN adapt themselves to the existing systems of hierarchy for maximum benefits for those systems by making themselves valuable, and thereby maximum personal benefits based on the value they PRODUCE.
Women seek to adapt all systems to themselves based on the fact that they are women, with unique and special needs⌠well looks like equality just went out the window didnât it?
When women want to invade male spaces, or get unearned access to resources and status they do it through equality arguments.
Once they have equality status, then they go back and forth between equality empowerment and victim signaling for access to yet more resources. Not from a husband she has to answer to and be accountable to, but anonymously from EVERYMAN taxpayer.
So to be clear, once women got their equality status, equal to men, they either are my political allies, or are my competition. And women, other than married women, statistically have decided to be political opposition. And you canât be after special treatment, programs, tax dollars and expect sympathy or understanding from your competition.
Issue 2
I fundamentally care about the health of the nation, both men and women. Root causes foe what sounds like extreme symptoms should be looked into. THIS IS A SEPERATE ISSUE than funding special treatment programs for women in the workforce. I donât believe women should BE in the workforce, let alone billing taxpayers for special care programs. All men should be employed before any woman should be, and women should only be in jobs they are most suited for. In short, WOMEN should get their special treatment and funding from ONE MAN, not all of us.
Even in typing this I know half the women wonât get it. Theyâre not wired to. Women want what they want and donât care who or what it costs. This is tye definition of irresponsibility. Thatâs why they do not belong in the political arena.
Just a fair warning. Kicking women out of the workforce would roughly double your debt obligation as the financial backer for the âGood faith and credit of the US Governmentâ. Roughly a million dollars between the national debt and expected social security shortfallsâŚgive or takeâŚsocial security was obviously not our idea. But I promise alot of the other debt is from manly thingsâŚlike wars and Republican tax cuts. No menstrual leave.
And to who is the most debt owed. Or better question, who benefits most off our national debt? If we stop supporting parasites and termites, why not go far in correcting the problem and stop supporting all parasites and parasitical behavior? Itâs not my debt.
Big picture question: what happens to the parasites if the host goes down, if the host system is overloaded? What is the acceptable number of parasites a host should carry?
@F.T Hey, donât look at me, I had nothing to do with SSâŚmaybe ask @Milly69 about itâŚor FDR, the man who came up with it. Or the men in Congress who stole from itâŚsort of. Or the men in any administration over the last 30/40 years that made no efforts to diversify and grow it. I know nothing about it because Iâm not gonna see a red cent. AnywayâŚI just thought Iâd warn youâŚand Iâm happy to shoulder some of that debt burden if youâll allow itâŚactually I have to do it anyway because I donât get things handed to me for free, not ever unfortunately.
They are printing money out of thin air at the fed. Who owns/runs the fed?
Not even God makes some thing out of no thing.
The usary sherade persists because of ignorance. People canât imagine another way, The parasites rigging always gets discovered. And when the jig is up. There will BE no debt. Iâm not responsible, nor do I feel responsible for false debts. I wonder if Iâm the only one.
And I regret to inform you that it is indeed your debt. The US government has to keep up appearances and your so called âparasitesâ arenât good backers for the âgood faith and credit of the US GovernmentââŚbut donât worry, you and I are in this together.
And what am I getting out of this arrangement?
Iâm responsible for millions of uteruses, with zero reciprocity, and obligation to help pay off a national debt thatâs not mine, in my own country that is now hostile to white Christian men, and values that made it the place everyone from everywhere want to extract from?
What am I allowed to expect?
What if being allowed takes a backseat priority shift in favor of expectations.
@F.T Absolutely nothing. Welcome to the life of a working, tax paying, middle class American.
