Medication costs in the United States are significantly higher than in other countries, particularly for brand-name drugs. In 2022, U.S. prices for all drugs were 2.78 times higher than prices in 33 other countries. This means that U.S. consumers are subsidizing drug research and development for the rest of the world.
I propose that costs for drugs in the U.S. should be limited to the average cost of drugs in similar countries- for example, Canada and European countries. Simple and fair!
Silver Script - Medicare Part D is changing their 2025 plan to only 1 Plan called - Choice plan raising the premium from $18.60/month to $53.60/month and maximum out of pocket cost of $2,000.00 and a deductible of $590.00 for the year to be met.
I can only take the Brand name for my Blood pressure and
they will charge me $353.00+ every 3 months. I can get the same Brand Name medication from a Canadian pharmacy without going through the formalities that they have to approve a non-formulary every year. All they need is for my doctor to fax them my prescription.
Medicare Part D companies are making billions of dollars, and they don’t want to cover Brand Name medications, but they are good at raising premiums few times a year.
