Medical School curriculum change needed: remove funding to medical schools from pharmaceutical industry and get rid of Flexner Report,

We need to change the curriculum of our medical schools. We need to remove funding that medical schools receive from pharmaceutical companies. We need to get rid of the Flexner Report. We need to implement nutrition classes into all medical schools. We need to teach new doctors that they can write prescriptions for healthy food and exercise and that patients can use these prescriptions to get these things paid for using their HSA account. Medical schools should include courses about functional health and basic blood tests that can look for metabolic dysfunction.

We also need some type of reform to these ridiculously high deductibles which make it unobtainable to get care. For example, I need a neck fusion but before I can get that “approved” by my insurance, I need Physical therapy and spinal Injections to “fail”… I haven’t met my deductible yet so I have to pay out of pocket until I hit my $4000 deductible. My copay, which does NOT count towards my deductible is $60, which I have to pay for every PT visit. I am now $4000 out of pocket but only $2000 counts towards my deductible. My HSA has been drained. So no surgery for me.

Are you aware how different it was before big Pharma took over? It is despicable! Also look back at history and see how homeopathy used in hospitals was able to deal with epidemics that drugs could not!

Give pre-med students the option to go to medical school for lower cost or tuition free and place them for a few years after in areas of high need

Absolutely!! And get rid of the big tobacco big food pyramid!!!

What was wrong with the flexnor report? There needs to be another flexnor report on NP and PA education.

How to see who gets paid out by pharma:

Many docs do get some nutrition education. The problem is patients don’t want to hear it, they want a pill, a quick fix.

The Flexner report used in most medical schools pushes pharmaceutical therapies vs functional health.

What do you mean functional health? If you mean diet and exercise, most doctors want that but patients either ignore the recommendations or they no longer discuss it because patients would rather take a quick pill than eat healthy and exercise. But maybe I am misunderstanding what you’re saying.
