There has been a lot of politicians affiliated with the Freemasonry (blue and white lodge), sororities, and similar groups. I believe there should be mandatory pins to identify these individuals to show they are affiliated with such groups during major, important, and public events. The reason for this is to show more transperency on the affiliation of politicians.
Why stop there? What about any other fraternal organizations like, the American Legion, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, the Loyal Order of Moose Lodges, the Knights of Columbus, or the any “secret” college Fraternity or Sorority? Just because they are more open than the Freemasons does not mean there isn’t some “secret” stuff going on behind closed doors.
And I am sure you have seen the memes about Politicians needing to wear suits that look like NASCAR drivers showing all of their sponsors. Again, behind closed doors.
To be honest, it is not the affiliations that are known they tell you about, it’s the affiliations that are secret and they would never tell you about that should worry us.
This also reminds me of the McCarthy trials that refer to a series of hearings led by Senator Joseph McCarthy in the early 1950s, aimed at investigating alleged communist infiltration in the U.S. government and other institutions. These hearings often involved aggressive questioning and resulted in the persecution of many innocent individuals, contributing to a climate of fear known as McCarthyism.
Just because you are "affiliated " with an organization does not mean there is anything bad going on we should be worried about.
And to be above board, I was a 5 year member of DeMolay, and a 30+ year member of a Masonic Lodge and the Scottish Rite.
These are many groups. Many I have not heard of before. If this were to become a policy and politicians came out to have more pins than a senior girl scout member, or if we saw the same pins over and over again influencing a single direction in policies, I think that could be a cause for concern. I would wonder where are the normal politicians who aren’t affiliated with any group. I would also think it would be absurd if this country was run by mainly secret communities and faternities. I would feel this country would be greatly inauthentic. If this policy were to reveal that politicians are part of many faterities, sororities, and similar groups, I feel there would be a need to be a balance of politicians who are not affiliated with any group so we can understand the real authentic interest of average Americans.
The oathes they take overide the oath to the constitution…so they can’t be trusted anyway…shouldn’t be in government at all.
You might be right. Deception and waivering loyalties.
