From simple assault to mass shootings, Americans deserve full transparency on the underlying medications that may or may not be influencing any violent crimes.
In order to maintain transparency a complete historical record of prescriptions should be made public on a searchable data base of perpetrators of violence.
This would also help to identify potential root causes of expanded violent behavior.
They should be looking into the medications themselves and the reasons they are being prescribed so readily with no oversight. If someone takes opioids for pain they are labeled an addict but if people take antipsychotics of SSRI meds they are taking necessary medications…make it make sense. All of these meds cause changes to neurotransmitters in the brain that can either benefit or make someone worse. All cause withdrawal symptoms. But the stigma is different. Patients should be allowed testing to see if they process medications differently before playing Russian roulette with their brain chemistry.
