Mandate creditor reporting

All creditors that citizens make payments to on a regular basis such as landlords, phone companies, utility companies, etc should be mandated to report to the major credit bureaus. This would allow people to restore their credit scores more effectively. It also gives a more accurate picture of a person’s payment habits. It should also be made illegal to use a credit score to obtain basic human needs such as renting a place to live. There are already laws in place for landlords to remedy a “non-payment” situation. Why make it extremely difficult for someone to obtain housing due to their credit score, when it can be ruined by something like a huge doctor bill from an accident which has ZERO to do with paying rent?!
