Mandate 8 week maternity leave from all jobs

I’m not saying paid maternity leave. But if we are pro family in this nation we need to have a requirement of at least 8 weeks to be given to new mothers after birthing a child. New mothers are physically unable to go back to work. New mothers need to be allowed to spend time bonding with their child before going back to work. It is ridiculous to hear of mothers that had no leave options from their employers. Not providing at least 8 weeks of leave (unpaid or paid) should be illegal.
