Making a false accusation should be a FEDERAL felony, and the accuser should be investigated (and prosecuted) the same as the victim of the false accusation is. It is too easy for those with political, personal, or financial motivation to destroy someone’s reputation to make false accusations which can destroy individuals and their families and yet even if the person victimized by the lie is exonerated the most they can do is file a civil suit. Making this evil a felony would discourage false accusers and provide justice for the vicitms.
