I am a senior (Medicare) going to have knee replacement surgery. They want to do a blood type. Must be done within 2 weeks of surgery. Why within 2 weeks, IDK but it’s small request.
However, when I have my second knee done, it will be re-typed.
Why?
is not your blood type for life?
I imagine a blood type test is not cheap but that I do not know.
Why bill my insurance twice for a test that will not change.
We are typed at birth, are we not?
Not a blood-screening, a blood TYPE.
Is this not insurance fraud of some kind?
Someone, anyone, please, make this make sense to me.
No wonder our premiums keep rising!
There are several results that will be gathered from that “single” test, including blood count, coagulation time, hemoglobin, etc that are included in a Pre-surgical bloodwork.
