Seniors are paying on average over 300.00 a month for Healthcare Premiums through Medicare. This is not sustainable, it is keeping Seniors in poverty. After paying into Medicare all their working life, this is robbery Each year Medicare premiums are raised. The elderly in this Country are not treated well and are barely scraping by, if at all. There is no Dental or vision included in Medicare that is cruel and causes more disease and stress on Seniors Medicare should be free for Seniors or at the very least affordable
Offer Medicaid participants ride share vouchers for relinquishing their drivers license. The death rate and serious accident rates are significantly higher for older individuals.
In 2025 my Medicare Drug Plan (Part D) is going from $1,076.36 a year to $12,508.00 a year. Of course I will be switching my plan, but, at this rate, in another year I am not going to be able to afford any healthcare.
Are you aware that you can apply for Extra Help at ssa.gov to see if you are eligible for help with medication costs and also eligible for the Medicare Savings program.
Yes are you aware you have to jump through hoops to get it and the income level is very low and makes no sense at all. MIDDLE CLASS not medicaid
We pay for our substandard private medical insurance our entire working life, on top of that we pay for Medicare as a mandatory payroll deduction towards retirement. Then when we are finally able to retire we still have to pay for our Medicare insurance out of our retirement checks plus pay for bolt on insurance just to have decent DR. And drug coverage etc. When you ask why this Ponzi scheme is allowed to continue, you are told that you have to pay for all the new people coming into the system. Seriously? How many times as an American citizens
do we have to pay for substandard Medical Insurance?
Even if the monthly payment for Medicare can’t be done away with for seniors, at least stop penalizing those who didn’t sign up for Medicare the day they turned 65. I waited until I was 70 to get my social security and sign up for Medicare. I didn’t need it before that. Now I don’t have any medicare because I was told that there was a 10% penalty that I would have to pay per month for every year after I turned 65. Ican’t afford that and I’m sure many seniors who did the same thing I did can’t afford it either.
Medicare is a scheme they penalize you for LIFE if you are late getting a prescription plan, some people don’t even take medication! Same with Medicare I don’t go to Doctors routinely, I know better. I have not used my medicare for over two years. Had to use it during Covid to get my Vaccine exemption for work, (Thank God I did that) ) I realize we are paying for those that run to the Doctors often, fine, but those of us who don’t use our Medicare or Prescription program, should be Partially reimbursed at the end of the year. But I digress. MEDICARE SHOULD BE FREE!
I’ve worked since I was 18 and I’m now eligible for Medicare, I’ve paid into Social Security and Medicare on every paycheck and because I’m still working I have to pay more than the base amount of Part B premium because I work hard and earn more? So I choose to continue to work because my social security isn’t enough to live on but I can’t let it subsidize my earnings because I make too much and would have to pay it back and therefore I’m required to wait until I’m 70 to file for Social Security so I don’t have to give it back? There is something wrong with this picture???
Yep The Government decides how you live if you can pay your bills, or live comfortably. THERE SHOULD BE NO INCOME LIMIT WHEN COLLECTING THE SOCIAL SECURITY. IT IS OUR MONEY. AND IF WE OUTLIVE THE AMOUNT WE PAID IN, THEN AND ONLY THEN SHOULD THEY PLACE LIMITS ON EARNINGS.
