Make it affordable for elderly people, with no family to care for them, to be able to enter quality assisted living facilities. Private income based facilities make it impossible for elderly people on fixed social security income less that $2500 per month, to have the luxury of living in a place where they feel safe, secure and well cared for, in their later years. This is a problem for many americans who cannot afford to pay for long term care insurance, and medicaid is not always the best answer. Low income people on medicaid often have no choice but to live out their days in low quality facilities, sometimes making their final days feel more like living in prison, rather than living in a safe and secure environment. This is a very real problem. Set a cap on long term care facilities, including private facilities.
