Make legislators accountable to their constituents

Just like we are able to provide our input here, our representatives should consult us before voting on any legislation. There should be a portal for constituents to voice their opinion on how legislators should vote on bills. Legislators should provide their constituents their reasoning for voting yes or no or a bill. They should engage in a dialogue to persuade their constituents that their vote will benefit the people they represent. The process should be biding and legislators should not be allowed to vote in disagreement to the majority of those who provided their input.

Agree, great idea! Those who write or propose the legislation need to think of the people first, not profit or to further Corporate agendas. I’d suggest that all Legislation should first be written to be of service to the people. The simplicity of “Do no harm” to comply with The Law first. Further, if harm is committed, by operation of legislation, remedy should be automatic and granted. If legislators assess risk of harm and define remedy, prior to legislation being adopted, they may think twice about crafting, reviewing or passing legislation aimed at violating the rights of men and women for corporate greed or other nefarious agendas.
