Through studying history, we learn how past societies, systems, ideologies, governments, cultures and technologies were built, and how they operated. The past has warning signs. We must be able to reflect on the events that built up to them, learn from mistakes made and resist and question if we see similar patterns emerging. History teaches us important things about human nature.
I believe students need to learn about the different types of governments and not only learn the Constitution but learn WHY we have a Constitution.
