It should be obvious that someone who is on dialysis for 20+ hours a week is unable to work, but our current system makes these patients wait 6 months to a year before paying them. By then over half of these patients have lost their homes, their cars and are nearly bankrupt. We pay into it all of our lives, it should be there when we need it, not months or years later.
