Make America Safe Again

El Salvador was once one of the most violent countries in the world. Their streets were overrun by gangs, people paid gangs for protection, the jails were resort getaways for criminals with hookers, drugs, and anything they wanted. That has changed because of their President.
I want to see crime taken seriously. While we work through deportations and addressing crime from rioters, gangs, etc., we need have to be tougher on sentencing. Prosecutors need to use every enhancement available while we figure out what’s what and who’s who.
Ideas:

  1. Three strikes law across the country
  2. Life sentences for pedophiles and abusers of children where the circumstances predict no rehabilitation
  3. Have a super max prison, similar to the one in El Salvador, where nothing gets in or out, including cell service, letters, & drugs. This is to separate the worst of the worst from the rest of the criminal population.
  4. Prisoners have to feel like they have value & contribute. Have classes related to jobs that prisoners can do in prison. Teach them construction, cooking, accounting, and then have them work to reduce their sentence, and put money away for when they are released.
  5. Work can be done with charities that have the proper training and certification or licensing, something that ensures the safety of the prisoner and community if they work outside the prison.
  6. Have faith based / church services. Give prisoners a chance to connect to a higher being.
  7. Build the self esteem of the individual so that crime is less attractive.
  8. Create a task force to understand where we are failing and how things can be improved.
  9. Continuously review findings from research and feedback analysis to determine changes needed.
