Make America Beautiful Again

Across the US, the legacy of American innovation, achievement, and artisanship have fallen victim to efficiency and utilitarianism. They could be so much more. Many cities in Eastern Europe have begun the process of erasing the ugly utilitarian architecture of communism. American cities have the potential to be the most beautiful cities in the world. We need to focus more money to find and fund the accomplished and dedicated artists and architects of our country. Have them design or redesign the cities of the United States to make them beautiful, unique, and long-lasting. Some cities would require a complete rebuild, but many cities are absolutely beautiful in their own right and would require much less to beautify. Especially in already beautiful places like Washington DC, where the beautiful DC museums and federal buildings are marred by plastic orange cones, quick deploy fences, and temporary guardhouses. The same security and safety measures could be accomplished with beautiful alternatives. We have an opportunity now to redirect so much wasted and corrupt money to rebuild and beautify our great cities.
