Make America a Constitutional Republic Again by Removing Unconstitutional Laws

How about unconstitutional Supreme Court decisions. Warran Court from 1953 to 1969 is one of the most destructive. And the top on the list is Reynolds v. Sims, 377 U.S. 533 (1964) which violates (Const., Art. IV, § 4 & 14 & 10th Amend.) It turned all states in to the Democratic form of gov… As Ben Franklin put it, “Democracy is two wolfs and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch.” and John Adams, “Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet that did not commit suicide.” I know Illinois is well on it’s way. How far along is your state?

Hi Mary Ann, there are only two modes in which to formally discuss your proposal: Congress or the Article V Convention.

John, do you mean…the Congress where half of the members had their summer homes paid off with funds labled: “Ukrainian DEI Dance Club Donations”, under USAID?

Do you mean, THAT Congress?

Yes, that Congress. It’s obviously that train has left the station, which leaves the people the other mode, a convention. In terms of political science, if enough of us want a convention, the powers that be will call it. There are thousands of Americans on this site, what if they all realize that nothing good will happen for us until enough of us realize we need to put down our pet issues and focus on the issue of a convention?

John, I am absolutely against an Article V Convention. The problem is not with our Constitution, but those that take an oath to defend it and then don’t honor that oath. I believe we give Congress a chance to correct past mistakes in legislation. If they don’t, the states use nullification to exclude themselves from those unconstitutional laws.

Next, we keep a list of legislators who vote unconstitutionally. We use that report card to educate constituents and vote out the offenders. Of course, that means we must get rid of all voting machines and hand count paper ballots, preferably by precinct. That way the counts are decentralized and then sent to each county’s Election Authority after taking a picture of the final count. That makes cheating much harder.

I remain hopeful some of the current legislators may not be there long, especially any that may have been involved in criminal activity, such as stealing from the American taxpayer, getting rich from insider trading or other crimes against humanity. Maybe we will see patriotic citizens step up to the plate to do the job once the swamp has been drained.

Well, the states have legally satisfied the convention clause many times over and Congress fails its constitutional obligation to issue the call. So, you’re right, the Constitution is not the problem, it’s Congress denying the people the ability to formally discuss issues it won’t. In other words, people parrot the contradiction that they want the Constitution obeyed, but not if it means a convention. Anyway you might change your mind from what you’ve been told? A convention is not a rewrite of the Constitution but a discussion of new amendments. foavc.org
