Make a law where if federal government falls under a certain dissaproval rating (perhaps 35%), citizens pay no taxes as a form of protest. The logic is if they perform their job, they get paid. If they don’t, government shrinks and dissolves through natural means.
Counterpoint: If citizens understand how this works (which they’ll need to for it to actually function), then you’ll have an overwhelming majority automatically express disapproval with the government in order to pay no taxes regardless of how they actually feel about the government.
Good for them. They Should prove themselves capable and worthy of such responsibilities.
Then why not instead just push for an end to all taxes?
Depends what people want more; to keep taxes and lower them or to get rid of them entirely.
Sounds good except that we should NEVER pay taxes on our income or our property. That is outright theft. Why did we ever go along with that? Yeah, I wasn’t born then. They should have fought a second revolutionary war before accepting income and property tax.
