USPS postage rates have hiked since the beginning of the Biden administration. At least once a year, they increase their prices for stamps and labels. This has to stop.
The runaway shipping prices are affecting small businesses that offer delivery and basically forcing casual sellers to vend at flea markets.
Well fact is the Post Office has been losing billions of dollars for many years. So that is the reason for all the price hikes. The thing is though each time they raise the rate it is only for a few pennies more, so I think your complaint is focused on the wrong issue. They charge the average person .73 a stamp, but they will let businesses mail out their advertisements for less than .10. Now granted a business needs to mail out at least 5000 pieces to qualify for the rate and they don’t get forwarding or return service with it, but still I see no reason for the Post Office to be giving it away like that and then complain about how much money they lose every year. So that’s where your complaint should be focused.
Well, no duh. Everyone knows they’re losing money. It doesn’t mean they should pass on their bad decisions onto its customers. You may enjoy paying more money for postage and stamps, but the majority of Americans and I do not.
I don’t get why you want to be crying over paying 50 to 60 cents more when you buy a book of stamps. A postal worker once said to me people would be crying more over the Post Office raising the price of stamps one or two cents than they do if the price of gas went up 40 to 60 cents. He was right. It makes no sense to me.
In case you did not realize it ALL BUSINESSES raise their prices when they are losing money. The only difference is the Post Office wants to be stupid and raise prices on the wrong thing. You didn’t get the point of my first response. If you can get the Post Office to raise the price of bulk rate mail instead then they wouldn’t be losing so much money and therefore they would not raise the price of stamps that often.
