Commissions are taxed heavily to the point where almost 50% of all of my commissions go to taxes. I work in sales as an account executive and only make an average salary (under $75k) + commission. Majority of my pay is commission based but due to taxes I don’t get to actually pocket much of that and end up still owing each year at tax season. It would be great to lower the tax rate to say, 20%.
