On May 7th, 2025 a ‘REAL ID’ Will be required to travel throughout the United States. A typical drivers license and standard ID will no longer be acceptable to travel. I feel like this is a change that the American people should’ve had a say so in, and don’t recall ever voting for such a policy to be implemented. Why is a normal ID no longer good enough and why are all Americans being forced to purchase one for travel within our own country? I don’t like the idea of being forced to replace a perfectly good ID card, and I don’t trust how strongly it’s being enforced.
