Let's Make Talking Cool Again

I work with kids, teens and young adults on all things that aren’t taught in traditional school. One of my favorite topics that we teach is the importance of their voice and all things communication. We think we are more connected, but we are not. With technology, social media and social isolation due to COVID lockdowns, our kids are really struggling. Many don’t know how to have a face-to-face conversation, and many are lonely and don’t have a single friend. Our team teaches in a very interactive way by doing school assemblies, workshops
and more. We teach and they do it and execute. After all, you can’t be lecture-based, it must be interactive. Communication is the most under-developed skill and the most valued. The first step is to learn, then they practice and practice and then they master this skill. Think about all of the things you can do with your voice: Advocate for yourself, make someone feel good with your words, make friendships, solve problems and more. Our program works and it’s results-driven and action-based. This and more should be taught in schools. Our idea is to add curriculum to the classroom that teaches communication and human connection, and many more soft life skills needed today. There are so many topics that can be taught and evolve through each grade. It would be great to get more of the younger generation, Gen Z to lead and teach these kids. My son (21) does many assemblies, and he gets a great response because he’s young, relatable, relevant and his message resonates. He recently did a TEDx talk on this very topic. His company is Vitt Factor, and his mission is to change one life or a thousand at a time.

I love this :sparkling_heart::hugs: This platform is such a great example of what you’re talking about, too! Yes, let’s remind our children that everyone has a voice and teach them to use it!
