Legalize ALL drugs

The government has no say in what I or anybody else puts in their body. All laws that have to do with vices should be abolished. The war on drugs has been a complete disaster and failure by all measurements. All the war did was make the economy of drugs go underground on the black market and did nothing to reduce the use, possession, distribution, and sales of drugs. All the drug laws have done is make people with personal harmful vices criminals when they should be getting some sort of medical treatment. This primarily affected the black and Hispanic population and have destroyed their families as a result.

The war on drugs also created the violent cartels all over the country and especially at the southern border. If all drugs were now on the open market, those cartels instantly lose all of their funding and then power.

While it’s true that the War on Drugs has had its challenges, drug bans remain essential in preventing broader societal harm. Studies have shown that countries with well-regulated drug policies see significant benefits. For instance, Portugal’s decriminalization efforts, paired with treatment programs, reduced overdose deaths and health risks, but still maintained tight control to avoid rampant drug use. On the other hand, countries with stricter bans, such as Sweden, have some of the lowest drug use rates in Europe, illustrating that enforcement, combined with prevention, can be effective.

Legalizing all drugs could lead to more significant social issues. Increased drug use often results in more people unable to work, higher demand for free medical care, increased homelessness, and a rise in crime. Studies on opioid addiction in the U.S. show that drug abuse directly contributes to unemployment and dependency on public resources, creating a heavy burden on healthcare and social services. Moreover, drug addiction is strongly linked to criminal activity, with many addicts turning to theft and other crimes to fund their habits. While reforms are needed, drug bans remain a critical tool in mitigating these larger societal risks.

Comprehensive Drug Legalization for County-Level Investment in Education and Public Safety

I agree the war on drugs should at the very least some how be reformed
It targeted Black people and smoking pot to begin with and has done nothing but destroy families
It Needs to stop or at the very least be Tamed down in some manner
This has caused so much trama also to children

They should only be taken from DCS if their parents are physically hurting or starving them not just because parents do drugs people do drungs and for the most part function like a functioning acholcholic

So Reform The war on drugs
