Legalization, Regulation, and De-criminalization of Psilocybin for Medically Approved Pain and Mental Health conditions

Legalization of Psilocybin for those with certain pain-related medical conditions, such as Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, often known as CRPS. CRPS is the most painful condition one can have, outranking unmedicated child birth, unmedicated digit amputation, and beyond. As of now, the condition is considered a rare neurological disease, whose treatments are far and few in between, not covered by insurance, and ultimately not effective for the many patients suffering. Psilocybin in small “microdoses”, which are sub-perceptual, meaning the patient will not feel any hallucinogenic or altered state-of-mind side effects is both proven to help curb the associated pain up to 100% and is a much cleaner and safer natural alternative, with little to no side effects or cross-drug interactions. The same is true with microdoses of LSD, though the research is not as plentiful for that yet. The legalization of these substances in small doses for medically approved issues could help so many chronic pain sufferers of the highest degree. These substances are non-addictive and do not have the potential of drug abuse when used in the proper way, allowing many to get off of dangerous and addictive prescription medications, such as pain killers.

The idea would be for the substance to be treated similarly to medical marijuana.

Psilocybin and LSD microdosing follow a schedule where the substance is not taken daily. Mental Health sufferers of anxiety, depression, ocd, PTSD, and beyond have also seen amazing improvements so this is a conversation that should be legalized and permitted by speciality doctors.
