My daughter’s husband is from England and has tried to become a green card holder by the legal process, but in eight years of trying it has proven impossible. They don’t deny his claim, they just always decide not to decide. Even a denial is better than constantly putting off a decision. My daughter and son-in-law have now given up and will live outside of the USA because the system is impossible for him (even with a PhD!) to navigate. We need to streamline the legal process of immigration. That would also make illegal immigration less attractive and make it easier for people who can help the USA to immigrate. Eight years in limbo is an act of injustice.
Indeed, the process needs fixing.
