Please please please can we streamline the legal immigration/visa application process. As an American who has a partner who lives in Australia, I am already so frustrated with the process to get him here to live with me in this country. It seems like there are millions of hoops for us to jump through, and even after years of waiting, filling out forms, interviews, etc. our application can still be denied at any time for any reason. I understand that the process should be thorough, but it seems to me that it could be WAY more stream lined. Maybe we need more employees to work through these applications faster? Is there a way my local government could play a bigger part in this?
It is just especially frustrating because anyone and everyone can just walk through the Southern border into the US and get handed money, a phone, and a place to live. I know this is something that the Trump administration wants to change, and I agree. But honestly I see why some people do it. The legal application process is ridiculously long, tiresome, and hopeless. Please find a way to fix this. The sooner my boyfriend can move here, the sooner we can get married, start a family, and raise our American babies together. I really want him to move here and be with me in the US but at times it seems like I will have to be the one to move to AUS. Thank you so much to whoever took the time to read this post. God Bless
