Please look into the large land grab….government seems to be “paying” the victims of western North Carolina $2500 for their land and not allowing them to rebuild on their own property. Kamala Harris’ husband is the largest shareholder in the mine for lithium in that region. Please protect these people who have lost everything.

I agree. We need to have policy and law in place, both at the state and federal level that stops giving land grants to corporarions, developers, imdustrialists, or anyone else who has a relationship, business, family, shareholding of any kind to anyone holding a political seat.
In situations lik NC, if homeowners are displaced, anyone looking to buy their land for any reason, must offer the homeowner cost of their home and property before a disaster or current value. Whichever is greater. The purchase of the land cannot be used for any development other than what the land was before the purchase.
If the land is used for anything else, and the original owner is not informed, the purchaser either revokes ownership or pays a fee to the original owner. We need to avoid situations like California had between the Pelosis and Fienstiens where they sold land to each other through land grants.

At the same time don’t for get what has happened in Hawaii, with the devastating fires, that destroyed a lot there, they were told they could not rebuild, I believe I also hear that Oprah, was trying to buy all that land, this as well is not right, these people have the right to rebuild with out any interference from any state or federal agency. There’s something not right there, any land grabs should be stopped from big companies, millionaires billionaires foreign companies from forcing these people to sell their land when they don’t want to, if they choose to sell they should not be pressured into doing so.

I’m hearing that banks owned by Vanguard (i.e. “Mr. Coopers”), and I believe Blackrock, are buying up NC mortgages in those areas devastated by Hurricane Helene. Also, that this same company is doing the inspections for FEMA.

Maybe BlackRock and Vanguard are just trying to liberate some finite natural resources from us useless eaters - but maybe we should be less useless and instead dissolve both of these corporations and deposit their assets into our treasury
